Requirements
for GED Exam Applicants
Applicants must present a recent, state photo I.D.
with date of birth (photo must be issued by the State Department of
Motor Vehicles or other government office.)
Applicants must be 17 years old or older.
Applicants ages 17 or 18 must have been withdrawn from
school for 6 months OR applicant's
high school class must have graduated.
Any applicants under the age of 19 must submit an
official letter from the last high school they attended certifying
that their class has graduated or that they have been withdrawn from
school for 6 months. Applicants under the age of 19 will not be
scheduled until this letter has been submitted to the Adult Education
Center located at 182 Cedar Street, Norwich, CT.
Applicants must provide a Connecticut address.
Applicants 21 years of age and older must pay a fee of
$13.00 to take the GED exam.
Retakes, incompletes, and no-shows aged 21 and older
must pay an additional $13.00 fee each time they register for the exam.
