MUSIC        Music classes meet every week for 40 minutes in grades 1 - 5 and for 20 minutes in Kindergarten.  Children take part in a variety of activities in the music class.  These are designed to help your child develop musical skill and to know and appreciate many different styles of music.
      Singing activities include songs from our American folk tradition, songs from different parts of the world, patriotic and holiday songs, and songs that are part of music dramas. Your child will listen to music written in many styles and will play simple instruments. Movement and dance are also a basic part of our program.  In addition, we have the Music in Education keyboard system, which helps children create and learn musical songs.  Chorus is a musical group open to all fourth and fifth graders.  Instrumental lessons for the trumpet, clarinet, flute and percussion kit are available for students in fifth grade.
