Summer Reading

The Goal

Make sure your child reads every day! Our goal is for every child in the Norwich Public Schools reading at least 20 minutes each day for the 8 weeks of summer vacation for a total of at least 800 minutes of reading over the summer! If we accomplish our goal Norwich students will have read over 4,000,000 minutes of reading!

Log Reading Time & Title(s)

Each time your child reads over the summer have them go online and log their time and book title through our online summer reading log system at www.norwichpublicschools.org Students enrolled in any Norwich elementary school as of June 1, 2016 have been pre-registered in the online system. Student’s user name is written on the front of this packet and their password is “norwich.”

Incentives to Read

Each week the Otis Public Library (located at 261 Main Street) will provide prizes for students who complete their reading log! Additionally, students who meet the goal of reading 800 minutes over the summer will be honored at their school for their efforts! *Please note – summer reading prizes and ceremonies will differ at each school.
