Stanton School
Art Classes are designed to challenge students in grades
Preschool - 5. The Art
Curriculum follows the National Standards for the Arts
and Connecticut's Common Core of Learning.
Children at Stanton School are given the opportunity to participate in music. They acquire an informed acquaintance with quality music of various genres, styles, cultures, and historical periods. Music enables children to acquire self-discipline, perseverance, and the collaborative spirit. While enhancing a child's self-esteem and productivity, it gives them an opportunity for self-expression, communication, and creative thinking.
Physical Education Physical Education at Stanton School includes Preschool and Kindergarten having 20 minute classes once a week and grades 1 through 5 having 40 minute classes once a week. In the primary grades, Preschool through 2, the focus is on skill development through movement activities and small equipment use. The older students in grades 3 through 5 refine these activities by participating in team and individual sport activities. Physical fitness is
addressed in all classes. Fourth graders are tested
according to the state guidelines each fall. These
results are reported on the State of Connecticut's
Strategic School Profile.
