Norwich Public Schools

A new partnership has formed between Norwich Adult Education and Hickory Street School. High School Credit Diploma Program students are volunteering to read to groups of children at Hickory Street. The young adults from Norwich Adult Education get the opportunity to work on poise, presentation skills, and group collaboration. They can be seen practicing their oral reading skills before heading next door for the "real deal." The children of Hickory Street get the undivided attention of older youth and they ask them plenty of questions...about the stories, and LOTS MORE! It's a win-win situation -- we're not sure who's having more fun!
