What is a 21st Century Community Learning Center?

Funded through the No Child Left Behind Act, the 21st Century Community Learning Center program supports after school learning centers in low-performing and high poverty school districts throughout the country.  More information can be found at: http://www2.ed.gov/programs/21stcclc/index.html

How do I join ASPIRE?

Any student interested in participating needs to register for each ASPIRE session with the Site Coordinator at their school.  Students should look for more information about activities and dates for each session in their school office.  Students and Parents can also contact their ASPIRE Coordinator for updated information.

Participation Results from School year 2010-11:

  • 468 Students participated
  • 40,770 hours of participation

Academic Results (school year 2009-10):

158 students have participated for 2 years consistently showing these academic improvements:
  • -77% improved or remained at or above average in Math from the 2nd marking period of 2008-09 to the 1st marking period of 2009-10. 
  • 20 students improved their performance by two letter grades and 8 more made significant improvement of three or more letter grades
  • 78% improved their grades or remained at or above average in Language Arts
  • 19 of these students made improvements of two letter grades or more
