Diversion.NET 

Student Mediation & Intervention Program

A program designed to decrease the involvement of Norwich Public Schools 6-12 grade students in the juvenile justice system by introducing a mediation coordinator and student mediation board to improve communication between families, schools, and local intervention students.

Type of Referrals: Intervention for students demonstrating a pattern of repeated Level 1 and/or serious Level II offenses who could benefit from mediation supports before the options of a parent conference, detention, and/or in-school suspension.

Intervention Services Include:

 Student referrals by Staff

 Monthly Board meeting at school site

 Parental contacts and support

 Information and referrals

 Outreach programs
