Creating Community:

  • Staff organized a Papa Gino’s fundraiser and raised over $600
  • Students invited Uncas BRIDGES to play a basketball game in their gym- this was very popular and they won!

Serving:

  • Students Sang and made cards for mentally disabled adults at the Arc of New London County
  • Organized a blanket, toy, and food drive and made their own blankets for animals at the humane society
  • Worked with a local artist on drawings of these abandoned animals at the humane society for an exhibit at a local art gallery. The exhibit will open March 12 at the NAC Gallery in downtown Norwich

Reading:

  • Every day the 30-minute homework period is followed by 15 minutes of silent reading for all students
  • At the beginning of the program, staff and students set a goal to read for 10,000 minutes as a group- this goal was accomplished within 2.5 months.
