Students try out a variety of materials in the Art program. They express their ideas with different types of materials.  They also express their own ideas about specific topics. Art students develop their own style of drawing, painting, and working in a 3-D mode.

Students learn about the properties of materials. They mix colors with different paints and pastels. The students create three dimensional art works with paper mache, clay, and other sculpture materials.

A study of artists and different artistic styles are included. This helps students to build an appreciation for a mixture of cultures and artistic styles. Students learn how artists struggle with themes of transformation and emotion. They discover how these artists express their ideas about the world.

Art students begin to understand that everyone sees and interprets, things differently.  Therefore, each person’s art is as unique as they are.
