Greetings Kelly Middle School Families, It is hard to believe that May is here already! This is a busy time at Kelly. As we plan the end of the year it is easy to get “Spring Fever” and lose sight of why we are here each day – to learn. In the next few weeks, many of you will receive notices of the many activities that are planned as we race into June but most importantly, progress reports for the third marking period will be coming home on Wednesday, May 2nd. Please look for your child’s report when they come home that day and encourage them to continue to work hard for the remainder of the year. Included with the progress report will be a survey from our School Governance Council. This survey is for parents to fill out about our school climate. Please take a moment to fill out this survey and have it returned by Wednesday, May 9th. Your responses will help us understand how you feel about your KMS experience this year in order for the Governance Council to work to make Kelly even better than it is right now. It is important that every family completes this simple survey and returns it to the school on the 9th! On Wednesday, May 16th, parents of incoming 6th grade students are invited to come in for an orientation session. This will allow parents to get a first look at Kelly Middle School. The program begins that night at 6PM. With the warm weather approaching, please remember that students are required to follow the district dress code policy. This is required of all students in the Norwich Public Schools and may be a requirement to be eligible to go on non-academic field trips and school dances. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
