John B. Stanton School PARENT/GUARDIANPLEDGE
I will do my best to:
* Demonstrate to my child my interest in his or her schooling by helping with homework and making sure my child meets the responsibilities of school.
* Send my student to school each day with a positive attitude, on time, in the NPS uniform. I will try to make appointments before or after school if possible.
* Help my child to do well in school and be a student of character.
*Encourage my child to work their hardest, be cooperative, and be respectful toward all other people.
* Notify the school if my child is absent or tardy by calling school before 9:30 am and sending a note on the day of return.
* Read all communications from school and respond when necessary.
* Attend parent-teacher conferences two times each year.
* Support the school by attending PTO meetings, Open House, and other school activities and programs.
* Volunteer at school when possible.
John B. Stanton School STUDENT PLEDGE
I will do my best to:
* Stay safe on the way to school, at school, and on the way home.
* Wear my NPS school uniform with pride every day to school.
* Be honest everyday with all of my classmates, teachers, and family.
* Show my positive attitude by being proud of everything I do.
* Take responsibility for my own behavior, effort, and attitude in school.
* Take home all notices and information received from my school and give it to an adult at home.
* Show respect for my classmates, teachers, and visitors at John B. Stanton School.
* Respect school property and the property of others.
* Set academic goals and strive to meet my goals. Work hard in school to complete class work and my homework every day.
* Read at least 30 minutes every day outside of school time with my family or by myself.
* Ask an adult for help when I need it.
John B. Stanton School TEACHER/STAFF PLEDGE
We will do our best to:
* Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the children to meet the CT student academic achievement standards.
* Make learning meaningful for students using local and state curriculum expectations.
* Understand and provide for individual student needs and learning styles.
* Hold parent-teacher conferences two times each year and discuss the individual student’s achievement with his or her family.
* Keep parents informed of his or her child’s progress, school work, and behavior on a regular basis.
* Help parents/guardians understand curriculum expectation as well as the progress of his or her child.
* Provide parents/guardians with reasonable access to all staff before or after school, or by appointment.
* Provide parents/guardians opportunities to volunteer and participate in his or her child’s class, observe classroom activities, and in the life of the school.
