If a child is struggling at Stanton School in any area, a team will convene. This meeting is called a Child Study Team Meeting. The team consists of members from the above list, the principal, the teacher and the parent if they wish to attend. The team will discuss data, strategies and brainstorm ideas to help the child be successful. The classroom teacher will then implement these strategies and the team will meet again to review the progress.
If a child is still struggling, a Planning and Placement Team Meeting (PPT) may be held. This is a meeting to further plan for the student. It may involve an evaluation, special education services, counseling, a behavior plan, speech/ language services or monitoring the child’s progress. The TOPS program has a positive reward system in place to assist students to make better choices in school-wide academic and social situations.
Please contact any of the above staff if you have concerns regarding your child.
