GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT
The guidance program addresses the unique concerns
of
middle school students. Services are designed to respond to the
personal/social,
career and educational needs of all students. Students and
parents
are encouraged to discuss school progress, adjustment and

goals with the counselors.

and middle
school and middle and high school.

depending upon
the nature of the concern.
- Participate with school staff as members of
interdisciplinary
teams.
- Implement appropriate classroom lessons, which
target the
academic, career and personal/social development needs of middle school
students.
- Serve as liaisons between the school and
community
resources.
- Review educational records and plan appropriate
student academic
programs.
- Conduct classroom guidance activities.
- Make appropriate referrals for social services
within the
school and community.
- Distribute information to parents/guardians via
individual
