Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies are required core subjects taught each day to students in grade 6, 7 and 8.  Interdisciplinary Teaching Teams provide instruction in the core subjects to a group of students who stay in the same team for the entire school year.  This concept provides for learner-centered teaching and encourages teachers from separate disciplines to plan and teach interdisciplinary lessons that relate common topics to each core subject area.  To facilitate this approach, the teachers meet daily to plan collaboratively for each student.

Each teaching team's learning environment encourages daily participation in classroom discussion, questioning, cooperation, respect for others, small group activities, reports/projects, and the use of technology.
