Read for 30-60 minutes each day.
Talk about your reading with a reading partner (i.e. mom, sibling, grandparent) for 15 minutes each day.
Write about reading (30 minutes). Respond to questions and thought prompts below:
- Identify a piece of figurative language. What words and phrases stand out to you, or help create a picture in your mind. How do the author’s words make you feel about what is happening at this point in the text?
- Who is telling the story and from which point of view? Why do you think the author chose to tell the story from this character’s point of view? What additional information were you able to learn about the character and plot using this character as a narrator?
- Based on this section of your book, identify a key moment that reveals important information about the character, or conflict that is occurring in the story. Think about how these story elements are interacting and explain why they are important for this key moment.
Complete the NPS Learning At Home packet for 30-60 minutes each day. This can be broken up into smaller units of time.
