Superintendent's Corner

Susan M. Lessard began her acting post on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. With more than 25 years in education. Ms. Lessard first joined Norwich Public Schools in 2017, when she was named Principal of John B. Stanton Elementary School. Previously, Ms. Lessard worked in Cheshire Public Schools as an Assistant Principal; prior to that experience, she was an elementary teacher in East Lyme Public Schools. 

Ms. Lessard holds a B.A. from Western Connecticut State University; an M.S. in Education from Eastern Connecticut; an 092 Certificate in Administration from Southern Connecticut State University; and an 093 Superintendent Certificate from Sacred Heart University.

With a wealth of experience in public education and with service as a United States Army Veteran, Ms. Lessard is “humbled and honored to have been asked to help Norwich Public Schools at this time.” She remains deeply committed to the students, families, community, faculty and staff in working together to ensure a successful, rewarding school year for all.
