NPS held its first district wide Lunar New Year Event led by our very own multilingual teacher from Veterans, Trinnie Eng, in collaboration with the MLL Dept. Performances included students from the NFA dance group, Asian Performing Arts, student chorus, instrumental performances, and origami demonstrations.
The 2024-2025 school calendar was approved at the February 20, 2024 Board of Education Meeting.
This year, NPS students celebrated Black History by honoring the accomplishments of African Americans in the Arts. Students wrote original songs, and scripts, and choreographed a variety of theatrical and dance performances. Each performance truly captured the students' voice.
Kelly STEAM Magnet Middle School students participated in the Eastern Region Middle School Music Festival. Eleanor Flores, 8th Grade, was in the Treble Choir and Melida Mahon, 7th Grade, was in the Concert Band. Both students auditioned alongside approximately 800 students throughout Eastern Connecticut in December and had qualifying scores to participate.

Norwich Public Schools is proud to work with the non-profit Choose Love Movement, a social emotional learning program that is being featured in our schools. Through this program, Norwich Public Schools is creating safer and more loving schools, homes and communities.
