June BOE Meeting to include School Building Restructuring Proposal Presentation

Norwich Public Schools

June 8, 2022

On Tuesday, June 14th the Board of Education meeting will begin with a presentation from direct architectural firm Drummey Rosane Anderson Inc., or DRA Architects, with recommendations and school layout options for the district school building restructuring.

The presentation and Q & A session is scheduled from 5:30-6:30pm in the Kelly STEAM Magnet Middle School Auditorium. The regularly scheduled Board of Ed meeting agenda will continue after the presentation.

An Informational Meeting/Workshop of the (2020) School Building Committee and public will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2022 at 6:30pm in person at Kelly Middle School for the following:

1. Review of work completed to date, and input from the public into the ongoing development of the 2020 School Building Study.

Feed Calendars to your Calendar App

Calendars

The calendars on our site are pulled in from each school's Google Calendar. We have created a page where you can view the all calendars in various configurations.

Following a single calendar

For each of the schools and the district, we have tabs set up for the single calendar. If you want to connect a single calendar to a calendar service you use (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook). Even if you are interested in multiple calendars, it might be useful to follow each one individually to keep it organized.

To follow a single calendar:

Navigate to our calendar page.
Select the tab of the calendar you would like to follow.
On the top right of the calendar, there are a couple of icons. Select the RSS feed icon.
A window will pop up, giving different options to follow the calendar.
Hover over the ICAL button to get a set of options for the calendar feed.
1. For a standard iCal, click on the option, copy and paste the feed url to your calendar of choice.
2. For Google iCal, click on that option, copy and paste the url to Google Calendar in a new calendar.
3. If you have a default calendar app setup on your computer, you can use the last option to import to it.
4. For iOS, follow the instructions on Finalsite support to set up the calendar.

Following multiple calendars at once

To follow multiple calendars, we will first have to filter the calendars you want to follow and then follow it like above.

Navigate to our calendar page.
Select the tab of the calendars you would like to follow.
On the top right of the calendar, there are a couple of icons. Select the filter icon.
In the window that pops up, deselect the calendars you do not want to show.
Select the RSS feed icon from the top right.
A window will pop up, giving different options to follow the calendar. Make sure to only do the next steps to the options that says "All selected Public Calendars".
Hover over the ICAL button to get a set of options for the calendar feed.
1. For a standard iCal, click on the option, copy and paste the feed url to your calendar of choice.
2. For Google iCal, click on that option, copy and paste the url to Google Calendar in a new calendar.
3. If you have a default calendar app setup on your computer, you can use the last option to import to that.
4. For iOS, follow the instructions on Finalsite support to set up the calendar.

Calendar Alerts - Email or Text

Email Alerts

Create a New Account.
Fill in the information.
If wish only to get emails, you are done.

Add Text Message Alerts (Video)

Hover over your name and select Profile.
Click on the Subscriptions tab.
Click Add Text Enabled Phone then OK.
Select Mobile Phone, enter in your number, select provider and click Save Phone.
Click Verify, enter the security code from the text message you received, and click Verify again.
Click on Logoff.
Go back and click the bell icon on the top right of the calendar.
Select the calendars from which you would like to receive event alerts and click Update Settings – you are now enrolled to receive alerts.

Should your email or mobile number change, update your profile by logging in with your account info.

Should your child change schools, click the bell icon at the top right of the calendar. It will allow you to change your subscriptions.
