Every month, Norwich Public Schools recognizes one student, teacher, and support staff who go above and beyond their set expectations to make a true difference within the NPS community. Nominations are submitted by staff, teachers and administrators. Join us in celebrating these amazing members of our community!
The "You Inspire Me" student award for the month of April is Joseph!
The “You Inspire Me” student award for the month of May is Joseph W! Joseph is a great role model of the Moriarty Core Values: respectful, responsible and safe, and he is having fun everyday learning with his peers. Joseph was having difficulty with his reading earlier in the year, and now he is excited to read and is reading more and more. He progressed so much because he has a great attitude towards learning. Congratulations Joseph!
"The Key is Me!" teacher award recipient for the month of April is Krista Bialowas!
“The Key is Me!” teacher award recipient for the month of May is Krista Bialowas! Ms. Bialowas is a special education preschool teacher at Mahan School. Ms. Bialowas has established structure and routines that provide consistency for her students. Her planning gives purpose to the day and her caring and compassion offers the personal touch each student needs. Her classroom is always full of learning, love and laughter. Congratulations! Mahan is very lucky to have an educator like you!
We are happy share that the "I Make A Difference" support staff award for the month of May is awarded to not one... not two, but three very deserving staff members!
We are extremely lucky to have nurse Michelle Harris as part of Norwich Public Schools. She recently provided immediate support to a staff member in distress and handled the situation admirably. This included directing other staff, preparing for emergency first responders to arrive and most importantly providing CPR to another staff member, which ultimately could have saved their life. She is most deserving of this award. Huntington School is lucky to have her as part of their community!
Ms. Del Valle and Ms. Bradford are paraeducators who consistently support staff members and build meaningful relationships with their students. Javielly and Abigail deserve recognition for a recent student incident where they quite literally jumped out a window to help and support a student. They are most deserving of this award and Stanton School is lucky to have them!
