NOTE TO ALL NORWICH RECREATION PARTICIPANTS

COVID-19 Safety Measures as of 5/10/2020

The Norwich Recreation Department has been working diligently with local and federal health departments to ensure the safety of all participants, staff, and instructors. The safety of those we serve is our number one priority! The following measures have been made to our summer camps to keep everyone safe based on the Office of Early (OEC) requirements.

  • Daily temperature checks of all participants
  • Multiple entrances to camp drop off to minimize exposure and contamination
  • Small groups!
    • No more than 10 children per group in units of 30.
  • Each group will have its own classroom and will have little to no interaction with other groups
  • All staff will wear masks
  • Socially distant games and activities
  • Constant hand washing and disinfecting of surfaces
  • On-site entertainment to avoid travel and busses
  • Breakfast and lunches provided in the classroom to avoid large groups in the cafeteria.

Similar precautions are being taken with our weekly programs as well. Class sizes will be no larger than 10 and social distancing will be enforced with all programs. The rooms and equipment needed for classes will be disinfected before and after all classes.

*Subject to change at any time due to COVID-19 details and guidelines from the OEC* Thank you for all your continued support during these uncertain times. We will continue to meet guidelines to be a safe, enriching, and fun place for all to grow.
