Welcome to John B. Stanton School!
Welcome back to the 2018-19 school year! I have enjoyed meeting so many of the incredible families in our community and feel extremely fortunate to work with your children and the talented and dedicated staff here at Stanton! We are excited to meet everyone at our Open House on Monday, August 27 from 5:00-6:00, followed by a barbecue with DJ from 6:00-7:00, catered by Uncle D's Blazin' Barbecue. Please RSVP at 860-823-4207 Extension 2749.
Please know that the Stanton staff is dedicated to ensuring that every student receives instruction that meets their individual academic needs in a safe and supportive school environment. Our Stanton staff takes great pride in interactions with students and families. Building positive relationships with all Stanton students, families and staff is of great importance to me as well. Please feel free to email or call me; I will always be available to you during the school year.
As we partner together for this school year, we will need your help! Our commitment to you is to keep our focus on teaching and learning. You can help us by making sure students arrive to school on time, each day. Our school day begins at 8:50 (doors open at 8:45) and ends with a closing circle at 3:30 and dismissal at 3:35. Please make all efforts to schedule any student appointments before or after school hours to ensure that your child receives a full day's instruction.
I encourage every family to join and/or volunteer with our PTO. We have a fabulous PTO with many opportunities to get involved. We thank our PTO for their time and efforts that help make our staff, students and families feel welcome and supported.
As we begin the new school year, please make sure to keep the lines of communication open with your child’s teacher. She/he will always be your first contact for any questions or concerns you may have. Parents and teachers working together will increase your child’s success, while also serving as a great model for students as to how to work effectively as a team.
All Good Things,
Susan M. Lessard, Principal
