Dear Wolf Pack Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday. I am certainly thankful to be a part of such a strong community of learners at Uncas. In visiting classrooms (both in-person and virtually) and reviewing data with teachers, I clearly see our students making progress. They are working hard each day to learn and master new skills. Our teachers have been administering various Reading, Writing, and Math assessments and are excited to report that information and so much more at our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Please be sure to schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss the first part of the school year.
Given the current circumstances around the pandemic, we are focusing on supporting our students and families with attendance. We have seen some improvement in student attendance from the beginning of the year, but we still need your help. If your child is home, please support them in logging on to their programs through Clever. This will ensure that they are “present” even if they are learning at home. In order for your child to be marked as “present”, they need to log on through Clever and complete the various assignments that their teacher posts on Google classroom. If you are having trouble with technology in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office. We are here to help support you and your student’s learning.
Finally, I ask all members of the Uncas school community (parents, students, and staff) to remain vigilant in adhering to the Governor’s and local health official’s guidance regarding COVID precautions. Please wear your mask, maintain distance when outside your home, and wash hands whenever possible. If you, or someone close to you, has come down with any symptoms or tested positive, please let the school know. This will help us keep all students and families safe.
Feel free to call the office or email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions. Looking forward to our continued work together and I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!
Peter Camp, Principal
